Sockeyes look to advance tonight
Richmond Sockeyes are a win away from
advancing to the conference final.
An unassisted goal by rookie affiliate
Michael Tersigni at 6:51 of the third period gave the Sockeyes a hard-fought
3-2 victory over the host North Vancouver Wolf Pack Wednesday. Richmond now
leads the best-of-seven first-round Pacific Junior Hockey League playoff series
3 games to 1, and can advance with a win tonight (Thursday) at Minoru Arenas.
Game time is 7 p.m.
North Vancouver opened the scoring and took a
2-0 lead early in the second, but Richmond was able to draw even in the middle
frame on goals by Nicholas Bizzutto and Arjun Badh.
Games 6 and 7, if needed, are scheduled for
Saturday at North Vancouver’s Harry Jerome Rec Centre and Monday at Minoru
Arenas.
