Six years ago Denise Danicek had an idea to support KidSport. The idea became a reality and the hockey tournament, sponsored by the City of Richmond and Stanley’s Bar & Grill, that followed has become a summer staple.

With the help of her friend Lan Wong from the Richmond Arenas Community Association, they organized a small hockey jamboree, invited friends and family to play some fun games, and since have continually been inspired by the growing show of support.

“We started with four teams in August, 2014,” notes Danicek. “Fast forward, and we are proud to advise we will have collectively raised in our first five years just over $11,600 for this great cause.”

From an initial contribution of $995, the goal was to raise $3,500 from the 2019 event. Donations are still being counted.
