Richmond to host 2023 CWBL National Championship

The Richmond Olympic Oval will play host to all the fast-paced, hard-hitting action of the Canadian Wheelchair Basketball League (CWBL) May 13 to 15, when the top club teams from across the country compete in two divisions at the 2023 CWBL National Championship in Richmond, B.C.
Fans are invited to witness all of the skill and athleticism that make wheelchair basketball one of the most popular adaptive sports in the world. The competition begins on the morning of Saturday, May 13 when the Gladiateurs de Laval tip-off against Club 99. The tournament concludes with the gold medal game on Monday, May 15, 2023.
Teams will compete for the title of national champion. The tournament also features current and former national team athletes, including several athletes set to represent Team Canada at the IWBF World Championships (June 9 to 20) and the Parapan American Games (Nov.17 to 26).
The weekend will also include the Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet. Female and Male Athletes of the Year will be awarded along with the Junior Athlete of the Year and the Leadership and Excellence Award recipient. The night will conclude with a Hall of Fame induction.
The event is governed by Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) and presented by the BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS).
