Mayfair event to tee off PGA of BC schedule

Club pros and elite amateurs are expected to tee off this spring and summer in the PGA of BC championship tour.

The seven tournaments schedule is set to begin May 31 at Richmond’s Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club. The format of the event, presented by PING Canada and Tee-On Golf Systems, will be a two-person team, 18 holes best-ball.

The return of the tournaments follows a 2020 season in which a handful of events were cancelled or modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The remainder of the 2021 PGA of BC championship schedule is as follows:


Assistants & Seniors’Championships presented by Natera Sport & Arbor Memorial

June 7 and 8 at Kamloops Golf & Country Club

Format: 36 holes individual stroke play

2020 Champions: Tournaments not contested


G&G Golf Company & Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant Championship

July 5-6 – Talking Rock Golf Course (Chase, BC)

Format: Two-person teams; 18 holes best-ball, 18 holes scramble

2020 Champions: Brian McDonald & Rob Tadey (Fairview Mountain Golf Club)


TaylorMade & adidas Golf PGA of BC Championship presented by Axis Insurance Group

Aug. 23-24 – Rivershore Golf Links (Kamloops, BC)

Format: 36 holes individual stroke play

2020 Champion: Keith Martin (Tower Ranch Golf Club)


Club Professional Championship presented by Oakcreek Golf & Turf LP

Sept. 20-21 – Royal Colwood Golf Club (Victoria, BC)

Format: 36 holes individual stroke play

2020 Champion: Brad Clapp (Ledgeview Golf Club)


Women’s Championship presented by Dexim Golfwear

Dates & Venue TBA

Format: 36 holes individual stableford play

2020 Champion: Christine Wong (University Golf Club)


As in 2020, due to public-health concerns, the Jack McLaughlin Memorial Pro-Junior Championship presented by COBRA PUMA Golf will be conducted as a modified tournament. More information on the nature of this event, as well as the dates and venue for the PGA of BC Women’s Championship, will be released in the near future.

Prospective championship participants are advised that all championships will be observing best practices to keep all involved safe from a public-health perspective and observing all relevant guidelines set forth by local and provincial health authorities.

Registration for all events will open on April 1 at 9 a.m. Please be advised that spaces in each field are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for those meeting all eligibility criteria as outlined in the 2021 PGA of BC Tournament Manual, which will be available for review at the time of registration. Those who do not meet all eligibility criteria are welcome to register but may be moved to a priority-order waiting list should the field reach capacity with fully eligible players. Member eligibility may be determined at the discretion and interpretation of the PGA of BC Captain’s Committee.
