Richmond’s Han Xu has waited more than a week trying to figure out a way of telling his wife that he matched six of the seven numbers, plus the bonus, in the Oct. 2 Lotto Max draw.

“I opened the BCLC Lotto app and it said $111,387.60, and to this day I still thought it was a glitch. I didn’t want to tell (my wife) and have her be disappointed that it was a glitch,” says Xu. “But now that it’s real, I might hide the cheque in a bucket of fried chicken.”

Fried chicken?

“Yeah, I want to do something to mess with her, and I know she absolutely hates fried chicken. Something like that would be funny.”

Xu says he enjoys the convenience of buying lottery tickets on the BCLC Lotto App. He says when the time is right, he’d like to take his wife on vacation to an exotic destination “with a small hut over blue water.”
