Take a moment to share small kindnesses with those around you, health officials said in an update today.

While COVID-19 has required all of us to change how we work, go to school and spend time with friends and family, British Columbians have “risen to the challenge with compassion and determination,” they said.

Take a moment to thank people at your local grocery store, reach out to elderly neighbour to help with their garden cleanup or send a note to a friend you haven’t seen for a while. Small kindnesses are good for people and help bring us together.

Health officials also announced 125 new cases including one that is epidemiologically linked. BC’s total caseload now sits at 9,138.

The number of active cases rose slightly to 1,284. There are 3,202 people under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.

Three more people are in hospital for a total of 72. Twenty-one of them are in intensive care. There were no new deaths.

There were also no new healthcare facility outbreaks, with active outbreaks continuing at 14 longterm care or assisted living facilities and three acute care facilities. While there were no new community outbreaks, community exposure events continue to occur.
