SUCCESS Foundation’s iconic Walk with the Dragon went online this year and still raised $238,000.

More than 3,000 participated in the 35th annual fundraiser in support of services and programs which receive little or not funding from government sources.

This year’s walk welcomed participants to visit the organization’s website to complete seven checkpoints in the virtual route around Vancouver’s Stanley Park between July 25 and 31. In addition, Canadian government officials shared their support through videos promoting the walk, including Richmond Centre MP Alice Wong, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan, and Senator Yonah Martin. Provincial MLAs Teresa Wat (Richmond Centre) and John Yap (Richmond-Steveston) also participated.

“Every donation will make a real difference in the lives of the communities that we serve,” said event co-chairs Chris Chan, Terry Liu and Jeffrey Lee.

SUCCESS CEO Queenie Choo noted that SUCCESS offers more than 300 programs and services, providing help to the vulnerable and those from all walks of life—from early childhood development to seniors.
