Starting today, all passengers and employees travelling through Vancouver International Airport (YVR) will be screened for temperature thanks to new mandatory Transport Canada requirements.

The temperature screening will also take place at Canada’s other three busiest airports in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.

YVR’s TAKEcare program, comprised of health and safety measures, is adapting as airports become busier during the pandemic. A new autonomous floor cleaning device has a robotic sensor package to clean floors easily.

Cleaning units throughout the airport provide verification that surfaces are sanitary. UV technology is also used to detect cleanliness of surfaces and clean high-touch areas like escalator handrails.
