The iconic Walk with the Dragon (walk.successfoundation.ca) is going virtual.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation’s annual community event will be held online this year from July 25 to 31, with a fundraising goal of $300,000 to support unfunded programs for seniors, women, youth and families.

“As we work together to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has made adjustments to this well-loved event,” said foundation chair Brandon Hui. “Our event co-chairs Chris Chan, Terry Liu and Jeffrey Lee, along with the rest of the team, have been hard at work to ensure this will be another joyous and successful event.”

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. CEO Queen Choo is pleased the traditional fundraiser is continuing.

“With the impact of COVID-19, now more than ever we desperately need the financial support from donors to assist seniors and vulnerable (people) in our community. We are truly grateful for the unwavering support from donors, corporate sponsors and our many volunteers.”

In past years, more than 4,000 people from across the Lower Mainland have participated in the event, which raises funds for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs and services—which receive partial or no government funding.

Established in 1973, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is one of the largest social service agencies in Canada. It provides comprehensive services in settlement, language training, employment, family and youth counselling, business and economic development, seniors care, housing and community development.
