Yesterday the BC Centre for Disease Control launched the “Your story, our future” survey: http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/covid-19-survey

Since the survey’s release, over 75,000 people have filled it in. Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry urge British Columbians to contribute their experiences to the data collected across the province.

Those who cannot complete the survey online or need assistance in another language can call 1 833 707-1900 to take the survey over the phone. Assistance is available seven days a week between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Pacific time), in 150 languages.

In their update today, Dix and Henry also announced 16 new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 2,376 confirmed cases in British Columbia.

One more person has died of reasons related to COVID-19 for a total of 132.

There were no new long-term care or assisted-living facility outbreaks in the last day. In total, 15 facilities and five acute-care units have active cases.

Health teams continue to provide support for community outbreaks in the poultry sector, at the Mission Institution and with those connected to the Kearl Lake plant in Alberta.

As BC moves into Phase 2 of its restart plan, the provincial health officer’s order limiting gatherings to less than 50 people will remain in place. But people can increase social interactions by moving carefully and thoughtfully.

“Take the time to plan out how you’re going to safely include people in your household bubble. Think about who you need to protect and who may be higher risk. Your path ahead is based on your personal circumstances,” Henry and Dix said in a statement.

“Let’s keep our curve flat and keep our province strong—together.”
