No new outbreaks announced yesterday

Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 25 new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 2,112 confirmed cases in BC yesterday.

Two more people have died of complications related to COVID-19 for a total of 111.

No new long-term care or assisted-living facility outbreaks were announced yesterday. There are still active outbreaks at 21 facilities and three acute-care units.

Public health teams continue to provide support to community outbreaks and conduct contact tracing. 

There are 50 employees confirmed positive at Superior Poultry in Coquitlam, and 42 employees confirmed positive at United Poultry in Vancouver.

The Mission Institution federal correctional centre now has 132 inmates and staff who have been confirmed positive. The Kearl Lake plant in Alberta has been connected to 13 positive cases.

Henry and Dix remain committed to ongoing updates and are grateful to British Columbians who have been committed to slowing the spread of COVID-19.
