A new travelling exhibition, BC’s Marvellous Mushrooms, opens Sept. 20, 2025 to April 5, 2026 at the Richmond Nature Park. This exhibition, created by the Royal BC Museum, explores the science and practical uses of mushrooms today, highlighting some of the most fascinating of the 3,400 known species in the province.

Presented by the Richmond Nature Park Society and on loan from the Royal BC Museum, this exhibit encourages visitors to learn more about BC mushrooms and their versatility. It introduces a cross-section of different species, some familiar, some bizarre, some delicious and some deadly. Their lives are interwoven with every part of British Columbia’s ecosystems. Featuring interpretive graphic panels, hand-sculpted mushroom models and foraging equipment, the exhibition facilitates visitors’ understanding of BC mushrooms and their many uses.

The Nature House is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is by donation.

In addition, don’t miss these events at Richmond Nature Park that complement the exhibit:
