Richmond Public Library is dedicated to the process of Truth and Reconciliation by providing strong Indigenous programming by Indigenous voices. We are grateful to work with Indigenous authors and artists from local First Nations as well as those from across Canada to build meaningful programs and events.

Scheduled for select dates in June with more to come in September, our Indigenous Author Series highlights both well-known and emerging speakers and presenters. Join the library for a powerful and inspiring series of events that includes author readings, storytelling, and guided nature walks. We are offering events for both children and adults.

“Each year that the library offers the Indigenous Author Series, we have been able to highlight and explore vastly different stories in unique and compelling ways,” says Denise Hui, Library Board chair. “Underpinned by our Strategic Plan, the library is committed to offering programs and experiences that advance truth and reconciliation, providing Richmond residents with empowering opportunities for cultural learning,

reflection and understanding.”

Since its inception in 2023, the Indigenous Author Series has hosted 23 programs and reached over 760 community members.
