Richmond RCMP celebrates 75 years of service at Doors Open Richmond

Richmond RCMP invites the community to join in a special celebration marking 75 years of dedicated policing in Richmond. As part of the 18th annual Doors Open Richmond, residents are invited to experience “an insider’s view” of policing at an outdoor open house held at the City Centre Community Policing Office, located at 6931 Granville Avenue, directly across from Richmond Fire Hall No. 1.
Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visitors of all ages can explore a variety of hands-on and interactive exhibits, meet RCMP officers, and participate in family-friendly activities. Featured stations include:
- Red Serge photo booth – Take your picture with a Mountie in ceremonial red serge.
- Crime Prevention booth with Safety Bear’s Safety Wheel – Test your safety knowledge and pick up a limited-edition Richmond RCMP 75th Anniversary sticker.
- Spot the Target – Learn about theft prevention in vehicles.
- RCMP vehicle & equipment displays – View an All-Terrain Vehicle, Fraser Guardian vessel, and Emergency Response Team gear.
- Recruiting station – Learn more about career opportunities with the RCMP.
“This year’s Doors Open Richmond is a special opportunity to showcase the many facets of community policing and reflect on 75 years of partnership with the people of Richmond,” said Chief Superintendent Dave Chauhan, Officer-in-Charge of the Richmond RCMP. “We’re proud of our roots and excited to share how we continue to grow and serve a dynamic, growing and diverse city.”
