BC COVID-19 count passes 1,500

Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 27 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday for a total of 1,517 cases in the province.
Three more people died of causes related to COVID-19 for a total of 72 deaths in BC.
One new long-term care outbreak was announced in the Vancouver Coastal Health region. In addition, a federal correctional centre in Mission also has an outbreak.
Henry and Dix marked the four year anniversary of the declaration of another public health emergency: BC’s overdose crisis. They acknowledge continuing efforts to resolve this crisis.
