BC Health Minister Adrian Dix said today that there clearly needs to be much stronger messaging and screening at borders and airports.

He and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry also stressed that there needs to be full access to people’s medical records when they return to BC.

“We and the federal government are working on more quarantine space to potentially quarantine people coming (back to Canada),” said Dix.

They stressed the need for all returning travellers to respect the strict 14 day quarantine order while it is still voluntary.

“When people come home from the airport they shouldn’t go to Costco or Safeway. They should go straight home and stay home,” said Henry. She suggested friends or family drop off groceries to returning travellers.
