Winter tire regulations remain in place until April 30 on most BC highways to account for early spring snowfall. People should ensure their vehicles have tires that have the mountain/snowflake or mud and snow (M + S) symbol when travelling on designated routes.
Last winter saw the regulations extended from March 31 to April 30 on select highways, most located in the Interior and northern parts of the province.
While highways and roads remain open, the provincial health officer continues to recommend that people stay close to home and avoid any non-essential travel.
