Food programs still available in Richmond

While some programs that provide food for those in need have been cancelled temporarily due to the COVID-19 outbreak, others remain in a changed format.

Free community meals are now takeout only.

• Monday to Thursday: Turning Point provides bag lunches at Brighouse Park Pavilion from noon to 1 p.m.

• Tuesday: St. Alban’s Anglican Church provides take-out meals at 5 p.m., except for March 31.

• Wednesday: Church on Five provides take-out meals at 6 p.m.

• Friday: St. Alban’s Anglican Church provides take-out meals at 11:30 a.m.

The following services are currently closed until further notice:

• Thursday lunches at Salvation Army Gilbert Road

• Thursday dinners at Gilmore Park United Church

• Saturday breakfast and shower program at St. Alban’s

• Saturday boxed lunches at Richmond Baptist Church

In addition, the Richmond Food Bank has switched to a pre-packed hamper model. Clients can pick up hampers between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
