Richmond’s Pathways Clubhouse is a non-profit organization that provides a supportive community to people who live with mental illness.
Pathways facilitates work experience, opportunities for connection, programs and services.
With the Clubhouse building closed to encourage physical distancing, the Pathways team is providing outreach services remotely via phone, text, email, and messaging services.
The team has created a “Pathways Virtual Clubhouse” Facebook page where members can connect via video and live feeds that provide a variety of healthy tips.
The Pathways team is also delivering meals to vulnerable members’ homes and providing individualized community support during a time when many people are experiencing high levels of stress and anxiety.
“In spite of this physical distancing, we are finding creative, effective ways to remain socially engaged with each other,” says executive director Dave MacDonald.
The team continues to explore communication tools to be able to connect with users as soon as possible.
