A new playground is being planned at Aberdeen Park and the city wants to hear from you.

The design will be helped by public feedback from an open house Saturday, Nov. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at Aberdeen Centre (4151 Hazelbridge Way). The session will be held on the first floor next to the BC Lotto Centre.

There will also be an opportunity to speak with city staff and project landscape architects, as well as view information boards and a preliminary playground concept plan. You may also complete a survey.

There’s still opportunities to participate if you can’t make it out to the session. From Nov. 16 to Dec. 2, those interested are invited to visit city's website to access project information, open house materials and complete an online version of the survey.

Information gathered will be used to develop a playground design to be unveiled in 2019, with the anticipated start of construction next spring.

Aberdeen Park opened last summer and is the focal point of the emerging Capstan Village area in Richmond’s City Centre neighbourhood. It offers rich green space, a vibrant urban square and areas for public gatherings, community events and arts and cultural activities. The park’s second phase of development will include a playground, stage canopy, public washroom and Zhengzhou exchange garden, and is anticipated to be completed in late 2019.
