McDonald’s manager from Richmond dazzles, winning prestigious global award

McDonald's Canada is thrilled to announce that Baljit Sokhi, manager of the 8140 No. 2 Rd McDonald's Restaurant in Richmond has been awarded a Ray Kroc Award. This award recognizes the top performing McDonald's restaurant managers globally. Only one per cent of restaurant managers around the world receive this honour, which includes a cash prize and a trophy.
Baljit has been working with McDonald's for 28 years, starting as a crew member and kitchen crew at the Broadway and Blenheim McDonald's in Vancouver. As a previous Outstanding Manager of the Year award winner in 2016 and 2022, Baljit continues to be an inspiration for all she works with.
"I like the people; the employees and the guests I work with," said Sokhi. "It feels like getting a lifetime achievement award and I'm very happy to be given such a prestigious and honorable moment in my life."
Every two years, McDonald's franchisees and regional management across the globe nominate restaurant managers for the Ray Kroc Award, which recognizes managers who provide superior performance and outstanding customer experience.
"Since joining the McDonald's team, I've watched Baljit grow and become such a strong leader to our team," said Bill Chao, Richmond McDonald's franchisee. "This award is well deserved as Baljit represents the perfect ideal role model and mentor for our crew and understands our guests needs like no other."
