The annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon held on July 14 in Stanley Park raised more than $320,000 to continue community programs.

Walk with the Dragon is S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation’s largest community-based fundraising event. It historically draws several thousand participants and is held in Stanley Park since 1986. Proceeds go directly to support essential S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs for families, youth, women, and seniors.

“Year after year, our community shows up to enjoy themselves and support S.U.C.C.E.S.S.” said S.U.C.C.E.S.S. chief executive officer Queenie Choo. “It never fails to move me when I see how deep our connections in the community go and how much it means to people to be able to give back to an organization that helped them when they were newcomers to Canada.”

The event is led by the longest dragon in North America – the 100-foot long S.U.C.C.E.S.S. dragon is carried by 40 martial artists who lead walkers to participate in the three- or seven-kilometer routes through the park. Following the walk, our family-friendly fairgrounds are open to the public, featuring live music, entertainment, activities, giveaways, prizes, carnival games and photo booths.

“We are incredibly grateful for the result,” said foundation board chair Jason Lam. “for the fund raised will be supporting our essential community services”.

“We are incredibly grateful to all of the sponsors, donors, participants, staff and volunteers for joining us at Stanley Park and for their support. said this year’s walk co-chairs, Irene Hsu and Charlie Huang.
