RCMP is seeking assistance in identifying suspect in stranger assault on 88-year old woman

Richmond RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspect in alleged stranger assault on an elderly woman. 

On March 6, 2024 Richmond RCMP received a report of an alleged assault that took place on March 5, in the 9200 block of Alderbridge Way. 

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on March 5, 2024 an 88-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by a female stranger. The victim was inside of a business when she was reportedly approached and struck in the head. Unfortunately, no one appears to have witnessed it. 

“The victim was struck hard enough that she fell onto the floor but fortunately, she did not sustain any physical injuries,” says Corporal Adriana O’Malley, Richmond RCMP media relations officer, “we believe there are people who will recognize this suspect and implore anyone who can identify her to call us.” 

At this time, the motive for this incident is unknown. 

The investigation remains active and on-going.
