The National Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Canada (TCM), with the support of Aberdeen Centre Mall, will be hosting the 11th Annual Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Wellness Day on Sunday, Oct. 8.

The purpose of this event is to promote wellness and the awareness of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

On the day, over ten volunteer TCM practitioners will be on site providing free (by donation) TCM consultation, blood pressure check, acupuncture treatment, and Tui Na (traditional Chinese therapeutic massage) to the general public. Eastern Currents Ltd. has graciously agreed to sponsor the event by providing all the acupuncture needs and supplies needed during the event.

In addition, there will be an information table with volunteers answering questions about traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, displaying acupuncture needles and tools patients may see at a TCM / acupuncture clinic, and playing videos about TCM theories and wellness practices.

All donations collected for the event shall go to Richmond Centre for Disability, whose mission is to empower people with disabilities to participate in the community to the level of their desires and abilities by providing information, resources, support and by increasing community awareness and accessibility.

This year’s event takes place on Oct. 8 (Sunday) from 12 to 5 p.m. at Aberdeen Centre central atrium.
