Richmond Culture Days returns this fall with 70+ free events and activities

Create, share and celebrate local arts and culture with more than 70 free events and activities offered during Richmond Culture Days from Friday, Sept. 22 to Sunday, Oct. 15.

A diverse range of artists, groups and arts organizations are part of this three-week celebration that will kick off with an opening weekend filled with interactive artist-led activities on Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept.24. The Richmond Cultural Centre (7700 Minoru Gate) will be the city’s official hub from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. Highlights include:

  • The launch of Richmond’s Writer-in-Residence program, featuring celebrated author Audrey Thomas
  • Classification Crisis exhibition and Mail Art drop-in workshop at the Richmond Art Gallery
  • Date Movie video installation by local artist Ron Reed at the Performance Hall
  • Richmond on the Rocks exhibition organized by Canadian Rock Paintings Association
  • Cinderella meet and greet hosted by Gateway Theatre
  • all-ages participatory activities and demonstrations offered by the Resident Art Groups of the Richmond Arts Centre, among many others

Richmond is consistently recognized as being among Culture Days’ top 10 most engaged cities in the country. Culture Days provides the public barrier-free opportunities to participate in arts and cultural experiences, with the aim of inspiring continued future involvement in the cultural life of local communities.
