Students are being invited to an open house Oct. 25 at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Richmond campus to explore what is possible through post-secondary education.
Coinciding with a province-wide professional development day in schools, the open house gives students and their families a chance to learn about KPU’s programs, admission requirements and application process. The open house, at 8771 Lansdowne Rd., is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“It’s always exciting to showcase all that KPU has to offer to students who are eager to learn more about our university,” says Dr. Alan Davis, president and vice-chancellor at KPU. “Coming to campus and connecting with faculty members, staff, past and current students is a fantastic way for individuals to truly see and experience what is possible.”
Other highlights of the open house include campus tours, learning about opportunities to study abroad, a free acupuncture consultation from students in KPU’s Traditional Chinese Medicine program, and a variety of fun games.
KPU Richmond is also home to the Wilson School of Design, which is holding the following information sessions:
- • Fashion Design and Technology, room 1940 (11 a.m. to noon)
- • Graphic Design for Marketing, room 1940 (noon to 1 p.m.)
- • Product Design, room 1940 (1 to 2 p.m.)
- • Fashion Marketing, room 1940 ( 2 to 3 p.m.)
- • Foundations in Design, room 2960 (2:30 to 3 p.m.)
There will be a prize draw for open house attendees, with prizes including $500 in free tuition, a pair of Cirque du Soleil “Luzia” tickets, a pair of BC Lions tickets, and the first 100 guests will receive a free soup and edible bowl sample from Eat the Dishes, a business founded by KPU alumna Marissa Bergeron.
