Lots to do this weekend, Richmond. From a beer festival to a talk about climate action, there’s a little something for everybody. So here’s the sign you were looking for to get up and get moving. 

Richmond RFC Beer Festival 

Who: Richmond Rugby Football Club 

What: A beer festival just in time for Oktoberfest season. Three local breweries and local sausages will be featured. 

When: Saturday, Oct. 5, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. 

Where: 6033 Katsura St. 

Price: $30


Richmond Pumpkin Patch 

Who: Richmond Country Farms 

What: Opening day of the Richmond Pumpkin Patch where you can pick pumpkins, pet farm animals, and much more. 

When: Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (open until October 31)

Where: 12900 Steveston Hwy. 

Price: $14/person on weekends and holidays, $11/person on weekdays 


Chili Cook-out 

Who: Richmond Pentecostal Church

What: A fundraiser for Elevate Youth’s Fall Retreat where they will be selling chili 

When: Sunday, Oct. 6, from 12:30 to3 p.m.

Where: 9300 Westminster Hwy. 

Price: Entrance is free 


Cannery Farmers’ Market

Who: Gulf of Georgia Cannery

What: An indoor food & craft market inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery 

When: Sunday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Where: Gulf of Georgia Cannery (12138 Fourth Ave.)

Price: Free 


Community Directions Fair - Climate Actions

Who: City of Richmond

What: Richmond plans on reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent by 2030, this is an opportunity to come out and listen to the local government’s next steps and provide feedback.

When: Saturday, Oct.5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Where: Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Rd.)

Price: Free


Info Table at Autism Speaks Walk 

Who: Autism Support Network of British Columbia 

What: A source of information on the ongoings of the Autism Support Network and the Autism Speaks Walk.

When: Sunday, October 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Preserving the History of Ninstints: An Exhibition 

Who: Origo Club

What: An exhibition dedication to Ninstints, a traditional Haida Gwaii form of art and storytelling.
