Giant tree at McArthurGlen to be lit Nov. 16

The holiday season is approaching, and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport is gearing up for its annual Sparkle Brighter event on Nov. 16.
Celebrating its eighth year, the event will culminate in the lighting of the 16-metre (52-foot) Christmas tree, which will be adorned with 1,500 baubles and more than 12,000 twinkling lights.
McArthurGlen has partnered with local schools to showcase student artwork to be featured in The Walk of Trees display with individually decorated trees from McNeely Elementary School, Vancouver Career College, and Little Flower Academy.
The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. It also features holiday stilt walkers dressed as the Nutcracker and the Snow Queen, a station for writing letters to Santa, and live musical entertainment. A children’s play area includes a life-size walk-through holiday light tunnel, and new festive decor will be spread throughout the centre.
