Richmond hosted its 39th Terry Fox Run on Sunday.

Hundreds gathered at Garry Point Park in Steveston to participate in the annual fundraising event in support of cancer research, while remembering a young British Columbian's determination and commitment to help find a cure for a disease that led him on a personal Marathon of Hope.

The 2019 Richmond Terry Fox Run raised $18,767 (and counting) "from our amazing community," noted run organizers Howard and Marla Jampolsky. "We had 283 participants and volunteers join together to make this happen. A most inspiring morning for us all as we gathered to honour Terry's legacy."
