The City of Richmond is hosting an event to officially unveil the new name for the No. 3 Road Park Dogs off-leash area, located at the intersection of No. 3 and Dyke Road at the South Arm of the Fraser River.

“Richmond has an extensive network of off-leash dog parks where residents can go to exercise their dogs and build community with fellow dog owners,” says Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “The new name of the park is fitting as it was put forward by Richmond’s community members”.

The new name will be publicly announced on Saturday (Sept. 24) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the entrance to the park just east of No. 3 Road and Dyke Road. This is a “dogs welcome” event.

The dike was recently upgraded at this location, which brought upgrades to the park including over 100 new trees, improved seating areas, refurbished ‘Dog Party’ public art, dog obstacle course features, planting areas, and new benches. In July of 2022, council approved the renaming of the No. 3 Road Park Dogs off-leash area.

Parking will be available at the parking lot adjacent to the dog park, as well as nearby parking areas along the south side of Dyke Road.
