Canada Line service to be disrupted next week

Service between Bridgeport and Richmond–Brighouse stations on the Canada Line will end about three hours early for three nights next week, from Aug. 2 to 4.

On those nights, Canada Line service will end at 10:30 p.m. These temporary closures will affect customers travelling to and from Bridgeport, Aberdeen, Lansdowne, and Richmond–Brighouse stations. However, service frequency between Bridgeport and YVR Airport stations will increase by 10 minutes.

This service change will allow construction crews to work on the new Capstan station. Crews will be using cranes to install large pieces of steel to connect the top of the station’s H-frames, and the cranes cannot be used safely above the track while trains are in operation.

Extra bus service will be available between Bridgeport and Richmond–Brighouse stations. Buses will stop at each impacted station (Bridgeport, Aberdeen, Lansdowne, and Richmond–Brighouse) and come about every 10 minutes.

Capstan station remains on track to open in 2023.
