Richmond cases down slightly to 164 last week

There were 164 COVID-19 cases in Richmond last week (Jan. 30 to Feb. 5), down from 191 the previous week (Jan. 23 to 29).
Health officials reported 1,318 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C. today. Since the pandemic began, the province has recorded 337,547 cases.
Of the new cases, 168 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 275 in the Fraser Health region, 199 in the Island Health region, 444 in the Interior Health region, 232 in the Northern Health region, and no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada.
There are 867 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 138 are in intensive care.
As of today, the number of active cases and those that have discontinued isolation have been removed from the COVID-19 pandemic update and will no longer be updated on the daily B.C. Centre for Disease Control dashboard, according to a B.C. government news release.
To date, 11,043,787 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.; 4,230,298 of those are second doses and 2,366,985 are third doses.
This means that 93.4 per cent of adults, 93.1 per cent of people aged 12 and older, and 90.3 per cent of people aged five and older have received their first dose of a vaccine. In addition, 90.9 per cent of adults, 90.4 per cent of those aged 12 and older, and 84.9 per cent of those aged five and older have received two doses; 54.0 per cent of adults and 51.1 per cent of those aged 12-plus have received three doses.
Sadly, there were five new COVID-related deaths reported today, bringing that total to 2,730. Of those who died, two lived in the Island Health region, two in the Interior Health region, and one in the Northern Health region.
Health authorities reported one new health-care facility outbreak and declared two over. Active outbreaks continue at 48 long-term care facilities, two assisted or independent living facilities, and three acute care facilities.
From Feb. 2 to 8, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 23.7 per cent of cases. From Jan. 26 to Feb. 8, they accounted for 31.5 per cent of hospitalizations.
