Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club is the latest group to raise funds for the Richmond Hospital Foundation’s ACT NOW Campaign. The funds were raised through a virtual concert that connected people internationally.

“We are proud to continue our annual tradition in raising funds for Richmond Hospital Foundation,” says Linda Li, president of Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club. “We believe in bringing people together regardless of physical distance, and this year we were delighted to be able to host our virtual concert in Los Angeles with well-known artists from Hong Kong to support the future of health care in Richmond, British Columbia.”

Named “Love Thru Borders—Project C13”, the virtual concert was hosted live in Los Angeles, California with celebrated guest singers Castro Louie and Suzan Guterres who joined May Ho on stage from Hong Kong, along with Wesley Li, a popular local master of ceremonies. Through this unique and unifying concert, Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club hopes to inspire giving and its impact within communities and across geographical borders.

This was the club’s 13th fundraising concert benefitting Richmond Hospital Foundation. All funds raised will be dedicated towards the development of the Yurkovich Family Pavilion, the hospital’s new acute care tower.

“The Yurkovich Family Pavilion is a much-needed facility that will deliver high quality care for the growing Richmond community,” says Natalie Meixner, president and chief executive officer of Richmond Hospital Foundation. “We are so thankful for Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club’s ongoing dedication to serving the community and supporting Richmond health care. They have been loyal supporters since 2001, inspiring friends and family to join Richmond Hospital Foundation in transforming health care. Together with their help, along with many other philanthropic groups and individuals, we can build a better and healthier future in Richmond.”
