Richmond COVID-19 cases increased to 46 last week

COVID-19 cases in Richmond increased again last week (Nov. 7 to 13), up to 46 from 41 the previous week.

Health officials also reported 468 new cases of COVID-19 today. Since the pandemic began, B.C. has recorded 214,150 cases.

Of the new cases, 69 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 173 in the Fraser Health region, 72 in the Island Health region, 85 in the Interior Health region, 68 in the Northern Health region and one new case of a person who resides outside of Canada.

There are 3,345 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. and 355 of those people are hospitalized, 110 of whom are in intensive care. 

To date, 8,488,846 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.; 4,030,851 of those are second doses. 

This means that 91.2 per cent of adults and 90.8 per cent of people aged 12 and older have received their first dose of a vaccine. In addition, 87.5 per cent of adults and 87 per cent of those aged 12 and older have received two doses.

Sadly, there were nine new virus-related deaths reported today, bringing that total to 2,290. Of those who died, five lived in the Fraser Health region, one in the Island Health region, one in the Interior Health region and two in the Northern Health region.

Health authorities reported one healthcare facility outbreak over. Active outbreaks continue at 13 long-term care facilities, three assisted or independent living facilities and five acute care facilities.

• Not vaccinated: 1,612 (55.6 per cent)

• Partially vaccinated: 139 (4.8 per cent)

• Fully vaccinated: 1,146 (39.6 per cent)

Past two weeks cases hospitalized (Nov. 3 to 16)—Total 340

• Not vaccinated: 210 (61.8 per cent)

• Partially vaccinated: 29 (8.5 per cent)

• Fully vaccinated: 101 (29.7 per cent)

Past week, cases per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Nov. 10 to 16)

• Not vaccinated: 205.9

• Partially vaccinated: 59.4

• Fully vaccinated: 26.0

Past two weeks, cases hospitalized per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Nov. 3 to 16)

• Not vaccinated: 43.7

• Partially vaccinated: 17.8

• Fully vaccinated: 2.2
