Two Richmond companies are among 43 across the province to be awarded StrongerBC Accelerating Manufacturing Grants.
Megatech Distribution (an advertising material distributing service) and Arctic Pearl Fishing (a family-owned company specializing in catching groundfish) will receive grants of $114,863 and $250,000 respectively from the $10 million distributed to small and medium-sized manufactures across the province. The grants support innovation and create new family-supporting jobs.
In congratulating the two local recipients, Richmond-Queensborogh MLA Aman Singh says the grants will help them scale up, expand, and adapt to the economic changes brought on by the pandemic.
“Small and medium manufacturers create good jobs for people here in our community,” Singh says. “These grants recognize local companies that have put in the work to develop a solid plan to grow. The funding will help them achieve those goals so they can create more opportunities for people in Richmond.”
