With summer winding down and fall on the horizon, now is the perfect time to stock up on some reading material.
A Friends of the Richmond Library Book Sale provides the ideal opportunity.
This Saturday (Sept. 11) and again two weeks later (Sept. 25), the always-popular sales return to the east side of town. Assuming the weather co-operates and doesn’t rain, sales will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day outside the Richmond Public Library’s Cambie branch at 150-11590 Cambie Rd. (near the corner of Cambie and No. 5 roads).
“These fabulous sales will feature a wide variety of gently-used books, ranging from fiction, children’s, Chinese language and many non-fiction categories,” promises Pat Ng, publicity chair for the Friends.
All books will be priced individually, with cash sales only. Patrons are asked to bring their own bags or boxes and, due to COVID-19, face masks are recommended. Physical distancing of at least two metres (six feet) will be enforced, and hand sanitizer will be available at the check out station.
All proceeds will benefit Richmond public libraries.
