Chamber plans annual golf tournament

The Richmond Chamber of Commerce will run its annual golf tournament again this year on Sept. 20.

The tournament, which is in its 38th year, is returning to a more normal format following last year’s adapted event. It will offer a banquet dinner, silent auction and lunch, along with 18 holes at the Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club (5460 No. 7 Rd.).

The event begins with registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m., with golfing set to begin at 1 p.m. and a BBQ dinner planned for 6:30 p.m., including door prizes and a silent auction. There’s also a special $10,000 “hole-in-one” prize on the course, courtesy of Shaw Business.

The event will follow guidelines set out by B.C.’s restart plan, with hole sponsors and staff greeting golfers in a physically distanced manner. Portions of the event may be modified depending on provincial health orders.

Ticket prices are $900 for a foursome, $480 for a twosome or $260 for a single golfer, plus tax. The price includes lunch, power carts, dinner, cart gifts, prizes for winners and sponsor hole activities.
