The Government of Canada says there are reports of counterfeit COVID-19 vaccines sold on the internet and from other unauthorized sources.
A government update reminds individuals not to take these fraudulent vaccines, as they may pose serious health risks and are ineffective at protecting you from the virus that causes COVID-19.
The government says to report any such incidents or sources to them immediately and to refer to Government of Canada sources for accurate vaccine information. The update reminds people that the only way to access safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines is through your local public health authority.
