Teresa Wat, the MLA for Richmond North Centre, today highlighted the need for a renewed discussion on the issues of racism, religious intolerance and hate crimes in British Columbia in the provincial legislature.
In honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Wat spoke about the increasing incidents of racism in B.C. throughout 2020 and cited the need for a renewed commitment to eliminating all forms of racial and religious intolerance in B.C.
She also reflected on her own experiences with racism as she called for change in our institutions and in our personal interactions.
