The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed to the 22000 block of Rathburn Drive in East Richmond following an incident earlier this morning.
Richmond RCMP officers attended the location to assist with traffic control for a structure fire around 4:45 a.m. today. Two people were found deceased inside the residence.
“At this time the two victims have not yet been identified. IHIT investigators are working hard to further this investigation, identify the victims and locate next of kin. Investigators have determined that a burned black BMW SUV reported shortly after the homicide near 16 Avenue and 194 Street in Surrey is believed to be associated to the homicide,” says Detective Lara Jansen of IHIT.
“We are asking anyone with CCTV, dash cam video or information related to the homicide or the burned BMW SUV to contact IHIT.”
Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase and there is no further information at this time.
