A Richmond mom is being singled out for her exceptional determination.

Chloe Lo, the mother of a four-and-a-half-year-old son, has received a $1,000 Working Parent Scholarship from Job-Applications.ca, a top online employment resource. The annual award recognizes the efforts of one exceptional Canadian student who balances the difficult tasks of parenthood, working and seeking a higher education.

“Parenting is rewarding but not easy. Being a working parent and a student studying for a marketing diploma, I am an expert in pulling all-nighters,” said Lo. “I am very honored to be the recipient of this scholarship. Not only does it help to pay my tuition, but it is also a motivation for me to keep pursuing my dream of providing my child with a better life.”

Lo is in her final year at Langara College working towards a degree in marketing management.

“Our hope for the Working Parent Scholarship is to alleviate some of the financial pressure parents juggling work and school face,” said Job-Applications.ca president Doug Crawford. “We are thrilled to award this year’s scholarship to Chloe and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes,”

New applicants can apply here for the 2021 scholarship online through Dec. 3.
