Shots were fired in downtown Richmond yesterday in what appears to be a targeted incident.

Richmond RCMP attended the 4500 block of No. 3 Road around 4:35 p.m. yesterday (Dec. 3) after reports of shots fired. Police found evidence that confirmed shots had been fired, and learned from witnesses that there was a physical altercation during which a man allegedly discharged a firearm.

The parties involved were described as South Asian males, who all fled the area in vehicles: a black Jetta, white Audi and white Mercedes.

“This is a busy time of the day in the downtown core,” says Cpl. Adriana Peralta. “It’s fortunate the reckless actions of this individual did not result in an innocent bystander being injured.”
