B.C. reports COVID-19 data from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1

In the past week (Sept. 25 to Oct. 1) there were 697 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 385,599 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 170 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 173 in the Fraser Health region, 147 in the Island Health region, 166 in the Interior Health region, and 41 in the Northern Health region.
The number of reported new cases the previous week (Sept. 18 to 24) increased by one to 636.
As of today, there are 369 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 29 of whom are in critical care.
There were 185 new hospital admissions in the past week (Sept. 25 to Oct. 1). Of those, 56 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 52 in the Fraser Health region, 40 in the Island Health region, 23 in the Interior Health region, and 14 in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (Sept. 18 to 24) increased to 198 from the 150 originally reported last week.
There were 28 new critical care admissions in the past week (Sept. 25 to Oct. 1). Of those, nine were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 11 in the Fraser Health region, three in the Island Health region, three in the Interior Health region, and two in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of critical care admissions in the previous week (Sept. 18 to 24) increased to 31 from the 30 originally reported last week.
The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 19 deaths between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1.
Of those who died, four lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, five in the Fraser Health region, six in the Island Health region, four in the Interior Health region, and zero in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (Sept. 18 to 24) increased to 34 from the 16 originally reported last week. Deaths the previous week (Sept. 11 to 17) remained the same at 31.
Locally, the latest data from the BCCDC indicates that there were 34 cases in Richmond last week (Sept. 25 to Oct. 1), down from 36 the previous week (Sept. 18 to 24).
