Seven-day average up slightly

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in B.C. rose slightly today to 37.
Yesterday, the seven-day average was 35. Health officials reported 46 new cases of COVID-19 today. Since the pandemic began, B.C. has recorded 147,797 cases.
Of the new cases, 13 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 15 in the Fraser Health region, three in the Island Health region, 13 in the Interior Health region, two in the Northern Health region and no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada.
There are 602 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. and 87 of those people are hospitalized, 22 of whom are in intensive care.
To date, 5,340,256 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.; 1,714,394 of those are second doses.
This means that 78.1 per cent of those aged 12 and older have received their first dose of a vaccine and 37 per cent have received two doses.
There were no new virus-related deaths reported today.
Active outbreaks continue at one long-term care facility and three acute care facilities.
