B.C. reports 75 new COVID-19 cases

B.C. is reporting its sixth consecutive day with under 100 new COVID-19 cases.
Health authorities reported 75 new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the province’s total to 147,346 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 17 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 44 in the Fraser Health region, one in the Island Health region, 12 in the Interior Health region and one in the Northern Health region.
There are 1,111 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. and 113 of those people are hospitalized, 34 of whom are in intensive care.
To date, 4,652,087 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.; 1,122,024 of those are second doses.
This means that 77.5 per cent of all adults in B.C. and 76 per cent of those 12 and older have received their first vaccine dose. In addition, 25.9 per cent of adults and 24.2 per cent of those aged 12-plus have received their second dose.
Sadly, there were three new virus-related deaths reported today, bringing that total to 1,747.
Active outbreaks continue at four long-term care, assisted living and independent living facilities—including Richmond’s Minoru Residence—and one acute care facility.
