According to Dr. Gabriela Ionita, it’s possible to learn the tools to control your anxiety instead of letting anxiety control your life. A group of local mental health organizations have banded together to offer a free clinic with this compassionate expert on anxiety.

Presented by Supporting Families and generously supported by AnxietyBC, the local workshop at Richmond Hospital runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this Wednesday, March 14.

Learnable, these tools let you start living your life with less anxiety.

When anxiety overwhelms, it makes the outside world secondary. When you use tools to control your anxiety, you can participate more fully in life.

Dr. Ionita is currently a professor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and works with children, young adults and families. She says there are different types of anxiety and different ways to effectively control anxiety that anyone can learn.

The anxiety workshop, which is open to anyone, is being held at Richmond Hospital’s Ralph Fisher Auditorium, 7000 Westminster Hwy.

If you need free on-sight childcare, just phone ahead to make sure they reserve room for your kids.

For child minding, call Tina at 604-314-3285 or email her at Tina.Lee2@vch.ca

There will be free parking available for this evening in the gravel lot accessed from Westminster Highway.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
