Coast2000 Terminals recently presented a cheque for $7,233 to Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG), a local charity that’s been on the frontlines of our community’s COVID-19 relief efforts.
The money was raised over the past two months, as part of the Tackling COVID-19 Together Campaign, organized by Western Stevedoring and its subsidiaries. In all, the campaign generated $80,000 for community organizations across BC.
Richmond-based Coast2000 led the fundraising effort locally, contributing $5,000 while matching, dollar for dollar, all donations from the public.
“We’d like to thank everyone who supported the campaign, and especially Coast2000, who showed incredible generosity in these challenging times,” says Ed Gavsie, president & CEO of RCRG. “The money raised will have a significant impact on our organization, as we work to keep our most vulnerable residents safe and healthy during the pandemic.”
Throughout COVID-19, RCRG has been focused on helping seniors, providing services like grocery shopping, virtual visiting, and frozen meal delivery. To learn more, visit www.rcrg.org.
Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG) is a registered charity that serves as a hub for volunteering and giving. RCRG is also a direct service provider, operating a Child Care Resource & Referral Centre, the Richmond Christmas Fund, and a variety of Seniors Community Support Services.
