Richmond Farm Fest returns to celebrate the city’s farming history

The Richmond Farm Fest is back on Sunday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to once again celebrate food, farming and community. This free, family-friendly event is set in the heart of Richmond on the 136.5-acre Garden City Lands (5040 Garden City Road).
Whether you’re a foodie, gardener or just looking for a fun day out with the family, the Richmond Farm Fest offers something for everyone. Come celebrate Richmond’s agricultural roots and growing future. Festival highlights include:
- Farmers and Artisans Market — Meet Richmond farmers with their locally grown fresh vegetables and fruit for sale, along with artisans offering homemade goodies for purchase.
- Culinary Demo Stage — Presented by Pursuit Kitchen — Watch chefs bring farm-to-table inspirations to life with live cooking demonstrations at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. using fresh, locally grown ingredients.
- Exceptional Food and Beverages — Enjoy delicious food from a variety of food trucks and local vendors.
- Children’s Area for “Little Farmers” — Try the hands-on activities, harvest games and educational fun for kids of all ages.
- Agricultural and Gardening Displays — Learn more about growing food and sustainable gardening practices in the interactive exhibits.
- Richmond’s Agricultural Story — Explore exhibits on the city’s farming history and future of sustainable agriculture
- Community Stage — Take a break from festivities, sit back, relax and enjoy a cold beverage while listening to local musicians and entertainers.
- Plant Labyrinth — Take a meditative walk through the Kwantlen Polytechnic University labyrinth mostly comprised of corn and canola plants.
- Farm Wagon Tours — Hop on an old fashioned hay wagon and tour the Garden City Lands while learning about native plants, local produce and the park’s unique history.
- Brew Barn — Sip and savour craft creations from Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s award-winning Brewing & Brewery Operations program.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle or take transit to the event. A free bike and e-scooter valet service will be available on-site with free parking at KPU (8771 Lansdowne Rd) and Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Road). There will be continuous shuttle bus service from these locations during the festival from 10:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
