B.C. reports COVID-19 data from July 10 to 16

In the past week (July 10 to 16) there were 1,044 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 377,372 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 259 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 384 in the Fraser Health region, 208 in the Island Health region, 143 in the Interior Health region, and 50 in the Northern Health region.
As of today, there are 406 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 30 of whom are in critical care.
There were 246 new hospital admissions in the past week (July 10 to 16). Of those, 61 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 104 in the Fraser Health region, 44 in the Island Health region, 27 in the Interior Health region, and 10 in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (July 3 to 9) increased to 262 from the 211 originally reported last week.
The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 21 deaths between July 10 and 16.
Of those who died, two lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, nine in the Fraser Health region, seven in the Island Health region, three in the Interior Health region, and none in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (July 3 to 9) increased to 29 from the 22 originally reported last week. Deaths the previous week (June 26 to July 2) increased by one to 35.
Locally, the latest data from the BCCDC indicates that there were 48 cases in Richmond last week (July 10 to 16), up from 36 the previous week (July 3 to 9).
