You can help bring history to life by volunteering as a heritage ambassador this summer.

Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, Steveston Tram and the Steveston Museum and London Heritage Farm all have opportunities in July and August.

Dressed in period costumes, volunteers will demonstrate such activities as churning butter, net mending, and showing visitors how the tram worked. Those with special skills in sewing, woodworking or playing Mahjong are also being sought.

As a volunteer, you’ll be helping preserve Richmond’s history.

To learn more, register by calling 604-238-8037 or emailing shsvolunteers@richmond.cato attend an information session Saturday, April 13 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Chinese Bunkhouse at Britannia Shipyards (5180 Westwater Dr). You must be at least 15 years of age and have excellent communication skills. A commitment of six shifts in July and August is required, with a variety of shit times.
